Recently I have been reading a book entitled, Working with God Through Intercessory PRAYER by D. Edmund Hiebert. As I have shared with you before, my prayer life needs a lot of work! Matthew 9:37-38 says, Then saith He unto His disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into His harvest. I am so thankful that we are in a PRAYER PARTNERSHIP with Jesus! He is sending Grace Church just as He sent His disciples. He is sending ME just as He sent His disciples. He is sending YOU just as He sent the Twelve! REMEMBER… we never go alone because our Lord Jesus is sending us. Take a look around you brothers and sisters… and you will what Jesus sees! People all around us need Jesus… Go and Share with them the GOOD NEWS that Jesus saves!
There is one verse in Romans that mentions each of these very powerful words: hope, joy and peace! These words are found in Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. This is over the top!!! Who can you turn to… who can you call, to find a list like hope, joy and peace? No one can deliver these but GOD! Read back through these words of Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost. In our world of upheaval and turmoil, the Lord and His hope awaits your hungry soul! Take some time each day to soak your soul in His refreshing gifts of hope, joy and peace! It will make a huge difference in how you live your life as a Christian.
Thank you to all of our men and women that cook each week! Our Wednesday dinners have never been better. Adults eat for $5, while teens pay only $3… our children eat free! Let’s give credit where credit is due! Thank you ladies and gentlemen for preparing these delicious meals! We appreciate you… God bless you!
Thank you to all of our Grace Church Choir members, musicians and media helpers! You have been so faithful to bless us each week for the past few months. Your dedication to Christ and His church has not gone unnoticed! Thank you for preparing your hearts to sing each week! Our hearts are blessed because you sing from yours! Colossians 3:16-17 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.
Christ Above All!

Consider this… God loves you! “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” AMAZING! But what is even more amazing is this. Before we could ever love Him, He loved us!!! And not only that… God showed His love for us by sacrificing His Son Jesus on the cross for our sins. When there was no love for God in my heart, His heart was overflowing with love for me! AMAZING! His judgment for all of our sins was poured out upon Jesus on the cross. Our sin debt was paid in full!!! The fact is this… “We love Him, because He first loved us.” This same love of God has been given to us by God! Yes, by His Holy Spirit we are empowered to love others just as God loved us. We love God, and we love each other because God first loved us! Romans 5:5 says, “… The love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit which is given to us.” LOVE originates with GOD! “The fruit of the Spirit is love….” Loving God and loving each other presents a powerful picture of who we are in Christ! Let HIS love mark your life! Let this love identify you as being a follower of Jesus!
GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU WORSHIP HIM TODAY!

Hello Grace Church!
Recently, as I was studying, I came to I Peter 2:24 and I Peter 3:18. These verses point out the sufferings of Jesus for our sins. Last Sunday we had Communion, and in John 19:1-3 John documents for every reader the graphic beating Jesus endured for our sins. Every slap and every punch that Jesus took was for our sins. 1 Peter 2:24 says, Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 1 Peter 3:18 adds, For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit. Take a minute to reflect on the sufferings of Jesus for you. His sufferings led Him to the cross. TAKE SOME TIME… Romans 5:8-9 says, But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 9 Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. PRAISE HIM!
Our Marriage and Family Conference begins Saturday at 5:30PM with a Grace Church Family Dinner. Please don’t miss these services. Invite your friends for the dinner and the Morning Worship Service. You will not regret it! Pastor Jon and Rebekah Bowman are not strangers to us. They are our dear friends! In recent years they have been engaged in Family Retreats such as the one we are hosting this weekend. I wish we could do more, but this is a start as we seek to minister to families in our church. Building stronger homes and families is crucial. These services can only help… please be here! Call Seth at 252-355-3500 to secure your spot!
Faithfulness Counts is true for every church and for every Christian. Just as Jesus was faithful to His calling as our Savior; we should be faithful to Him as well! His church is alive and well! Be faithful… let’s love Jesus and each other. What better way is there to point others to HIM? Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.
John 6 begins with multitudes following Jesus. The crowds were huge! These curious followers of Christ are soon treated to an outdoor feast from the hands of Jesus. Can you imagine what that was like? Thousands of people ate that day… it must have been a joyous occasion. Later in the same chapter these same folks are challenged with the truth about Jesus and who He was. Jesus challenged them to become committed followers. What happens next is quite telling! John 6:66 exposes their heart condition. It says, “From that time many of His disciples went back, and walked no more with Him.” The truth is they enjoyed the fish and bread but they were not willing to commit themselves to Jesus! Jesus asked the Twelve, “Will you also go away?” Peter’s response was classic! He said, John 6:68-69 “Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast the words of eternal life. 69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.” Today Jesus is calling us all to be committed followers… not just curious onlookers. BE COMMITTED TO JESUS… CHRIST ABOVE ALL!
TONIGHT (6:30PM) in our Grace Church Family Business Meeting we will be presenting our 4th Quarter Financial Statement from 2016 for your approval. I will also give a “Ministry Update” for January 2017. SEE YOU THERE!
Our Marriage and Family Conference will begin with a FAMILY DINNER on Saturday, February 11 at 5:30PM. EVERYONE is invited! You can sign up tonight.
