Bob Hoffman is with Jesus! 11/28/17

It is with great joy and sadness that I have to share with you that Bob went home to be with his Lord and Savior today. He passed very gently from death into life and I had the great privilege of being with him. God is so good! I want to thank you all for your prayers. God answered them abundantly and He has given us peace and strength and comfort throughout our journey. Still held tightly in His Grip, Pat

Luke 21:28 “But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

Bob Hoffman Update 11/20/17

It’s day three that Bob has been home.  We thank and praise God that he can feed himself and walk with the help of a walker, and with lots of help from Matt and I encouraging him.

We will be having PT come in and work on his getting back his strength, OT will help with teaching him how to dress himself and take care of his personal needs.  An aide will help him shower and shave, and the nurse will come once a week to access his health.  So I am going to be having lots of help.
Matt has been such a blessing to us because he’s been here helping and supporting both of us.  Matthew means “gift of God” and he has certainly lived up to his name all his life.
The word for today is from Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.  A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”  The Lord is the third strand and He assures us we will not be overpowered by this unexpected situation.  He will defend us from from the depression, despair,  and disappointment Satan would love to throw at us.  Our Cord is strong through your prayers and our faithful Lord who meets all our needs.

Luke 21:28 “But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”

OUTWARD ~ November 17, 2017

Every coach loves a good comeback! If you have been involved in sports you have been part of a comeback win! You remember? When coaching I used say things like “Winners never quit and quitters never win!” Or maybe something like, “We can do this guys, don’t quit!” Those were fun days for sure! Winston Churchill once said, “Never, never, never give up!” Churchill was known for his fiery speeches! I once read a quote that went something like this, “A diamond is a piece of coal that stuck to its job.” A friend sent me these words, “A river cuts through rock, not because of its power, but because of it persistence.” My point here is FAITHFULNESS! Brothers and sisters, one key to living the Christian life is FAITHFULNESS COUNTS! 2017 is quickly coming to a close! Finish faithful, whatever you do, finish faithful! Consider Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

THANKSGIVING DAY is this coming Thursday! Thank the Lord for these days that offer us some time to slow down and just simply be thankful! Tuesday night at 6:30PM we will take time to thank the Lord for His blessings upon us! We will count our blessings over dinner! If you have not signed up do so today. You can sign-up online at Our Thanksgiving Dinner is always a fun time… don’t miss it! You do not have to be a member to attend. Bring a friend!

Continue to pray for the First Baptist Church of Sutherland Springs, Texas! Thank the Lord for His healing, peace and comfort. I can’t imagine experiencing such a tragedy! We will be praying weekly for this dear pastor and his people. In the coming days we will receive an offering for the rebuilding of their church. Prayerfully consider what you will give!

Christ Above All in everything!

A PRAYER… Lord, give me

LORD… Give me

Give me eyes to see

Give me ears to hear

Give me hands to hold

Give me feet to go

Give me heart to feel

Give me peace to bless

Give me hope to lift up

Give me spirit to encourage

Give me grace to sympathize

Give me tears to comfort

Give me compassion to give

Give me courage to stand

Give me faith to look up

Give me strength to serve

Give me wisdom to guide

Give me love to glorify Christ

Give me Christ for life… and forever!

They are going down in dose on all his medications, so he is much more alert and not as sleepy.  He did PT and OT today and they gave their opinion that he is walking, doing stairs and able to get dressed himself, so they signed off on his release.  He’ll have his head CT in the morning and if all looks well, he’ll come home on Friday.  We are so looking forward to that!

The verse the Lord gave me today is:  “The Lord gives strength to His people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.”  Psalm 29:11
This is so true.  Even with all the ups and downs Bob and I and Matt, Rachel and Grant have experienced these last 11 days, He has given us the strength we’ve needed and the and the peace we have because we know nothing is impossible for our God.  We also know He is answering prayers.  Thank you so much for your love and support.
