Prayer Requests for 9/19/20

Dear Grace Church Praying Friends, I can’t think of a more needful time for prayer. Can you? Yes, pray for me as I preach. Pray for the Lord to use His Word in every service. These verses in Isaiah 53 are so powerful. They truly do cut into our inner being! The more I reflect on them, the deeper the truth penetrates. It’s just that simple. You’ve prayed throughout this series… thank you! I’ve heard some great sermons over the past few months. Really some of the best I’ve ever heard. Even though I’m finishing up the chapter I will continue to read through the passage and meditate on what I’m reading. Honestly, I have not scratched the surface of what the Holy Spirit gave to Isaiah. It’s true… this is a confession. Thank you for standing in the gap for me and for our church tomorrow.

Add to your prayers Chicago and other cities around the country. This week I’ve seen some videos from Chicago. It appears that there are groups of believers gathering around the city. I’m praying daily for Chicago. I believe the Lord is at work… let’s keep praying. Let’s also pray for revival in our churches and in our cities. A true Holy Spirit awakening is what we need. You agree? Let’s pray for it to happen and trust the Lord to see it through. How awesome would that be? Pray for Grace Community Church and Pastor John MacArthur. LA is doing everything they can to stop or hinder God’s work there. I posted a video on my FB page if you want to check it out.

Thank you again for your prayers. Love to you all and to your families! John 13:34-35 (KJV) A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. Hello Grace Church!

On Monday morning, I stopped to get some gas at a nearby station. There was a small compact car parked at the pump near me. There was a young mother putting gas in her car next to my pump. As I was getting ready to pump my gas I heard a little girl in the back seat of the ladies’ car say, “Mommy, I can’t see you.” From her voice and the way she was struggling in the car seat, I could tell that it bothered her that she couldn’t see her mother. Sometimes the Christian life is like that. Honestly, life can be brutal. Things happen that we have no control over. Many of us have had that experience. It can be devastating for sure. I waited to see what the little girl’s mother would say. Without hesitation I heard her say to her daughter, “I’m right here baby.” There are times when even the most mature Christian feels just like that little girl. My experience has taught me that our Lord is always near His children. If you listen closely enough you will hear Him say, “I’m right here son,” or “I’m right here daughter.” Even when we can’t see Him, He’s always near and ready to say, “I’m right here!” Hang in there brothers and sisters, our Lord is always near and He hears our every cry. Our Heavenly Father is always a simple, sincere prayer away.

Tonight at 7:00PM we will have our Grace Church Facebook Live service. This service continues to reach people here in Greenville and other areas around us. It is a blessing receiving feedback from you and others that listen in on these services. Our Sunday service continues to minister to many as well. Thank you for supporting these Facebook Live services. Reaching people with the Gospel is our mission. These services provide a huge open door to many that we would otherwise not reach. We are thankful that we have this opportunity. Watch when you can and share the services with your friends.

I also want to thank you for your faithfulness in giving. If you can’t attend the services, you may mail in your gifts to: Grace Church, 3551 South Charles Blvd., Greenville, NC 27858. You can also give online at Our offices are open Monday-Friday from 9:00AM-3:00PM for you to stop by if that works best for you. Please remember that our missionaries continue to need our support. Most of them remain on the field even now. All continue to be involved in their ministries at various levels. Let’s not forget them. Thank you for faithfully supporting our Faith Promise Missions families.

Please pray as we contemplate a few changes in our schedule of services. Aside from the fact that we miss seeing you, we are looking at adding Sunday School and some small groups to our church schedule. Our pastors and deacons will be looking at these changes within the next two weeks. You be notified when our plan is complete. Thank you for your prayers. We never take lightly our responsibility as pastors and deacons. The spiritual wellbeing of our church is our priority. Be assured, we will not compromise on the physical wellbeing of our church family. Pray with us! We love you!

Dear Prayer Partners!
I hope you are having a great day. Tomorrow we will continue our series through Isaiah 53. What a powerful passage of Scripture! The OT is packed with prophecies regarding the coming of Christ and His death. But none are more graphic and shocking than what we see here in Isaiah. Pray for me as I share these powerful words regarding the death of our Lord Jesus. Some call this chapter “The Forbidden Chapter.” Our Jewish friends may have never heard it read before. Some consider it “forbidden” reading in the Synagogue. Others deny that this is the case. If you search YouTube for videos on the subject you will see what I mean by the phrase. The fact is that Isaiah 53 is a prophecy written some 700 years before the death of Israel’s Messiah. We all need to hear it and grasp its meaning. Pray as I preach it tomorrow. It truly is a captivating passage. Read it and let the Spirit strike your heart with its truth.
Pray as well for our country. Pray for our leaders all over. There is so much hatred and violence all around. As Christians our hearts ought to be broken over what we see daily in various parts of our nation. As God’s people we ought to be light in these dark troublesome times. People need to see Jesus in us. We must stand for righteopusness and justice with the heart of Christ. What a great time to point others to Jesus. People need Jesus for sure. Hearts are hard… Jesus tenders hearts as He changes lives. Prayers for sure!!!
God bless you. Pray for our family. I know you have been praying… please continue. Cheryl and I struggle at times… thank you for praying! We love you! Isaiah 40:8 (KJV) The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Thank you! PM <><

Dear Praying friends,
Thank you again for your faithful prayers. Without prayer the message is powerless… the Lord only knows how weak we are in the flesh. We are in a sense preaching this message together. Together in prayer we seek the power of God’s Spirit upon His Word. Isaiah 52:13-15 serves as an introduction to Isaiah 53 The Suffering Servant Scripture. I am looking forward to teaching through these verses over the next few weeks. I am so thankful you are with me on this.
Prayers for my daughter in law Chandra. Add our grandsons, Austyn and Cyler to your prayers as well. They are of major concern for us. The boys started school last week. Chandra works as well, so she is a busy mother. Your prayers for them are deeply appreciated. They know people are praying… thank you! Cheryl and I plan to see them tomorrow.
Please continue to pray for our church family as well. This past week Tammie Hardee’s brother Maehew Haddock passed away. His service is tomorrow at Wilkersons 4:00PM. If you can attend that service I know that Tammie and her family would greatly appreciate it. Our dear pastor friend Robert Kornegay, his wife Josie passed away this week as well. You might remember that Josie battled cancer for years. She is now with Jesus. Pray for Robert.
Thank you again for being my prayer partners. I’m not sure I would make it without your sustaining prayers. I love you!
