ENGAGE 2019 Update Edition

ENGAGE 2019 UPDATE EDITION… Matthew 9:36 (KJV) But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Matthew tells us that Jesus was broken over the lost condition of the multitudes. When Jesus saw them His heart was crushed. WHY? Jesus knew that unless they were saved they would perish without hope. Let these words sink in for a moment. I encourage you to do as Jesus did, take a look around; many of the people you see do not know Jesus. Yes, we are to send missionaries to the peoples of the world, but we are to be missionaries as well. ENGAGE 2019 is just what we need… a time to refocus our affections. Our eyes need to be opened anew; our hearts need to be reignited for souls. Join me in praying that this will happen this weekend at Grace Church!

“ENGAGE” MISSIONS CONFERENCE 2019 includes our children. Every session (Friday night, Saturday and Sunday morning) is family friendly and includes services for our children. This is intentional and purposeful! Take advantage of this opportunity to educate your children about what it means to be a missionary. Jesus said, “Make disciples of all nations.” At Grace Church we take seriously the teachings of Jesus Christ. ENGAGE 2019 provides you as a parent the opportunity to expose your children to local outreach missions and world missions. Our teens regularly serve with local ministries that we support here in Greenville. Your family is important to the Lord. This focus on missions will bless you and your family!

Take a minute to signup for the meals this weekend @ Thank you for being a part of ENGAGE 2019.

“God had only one son, and He was a missionary!”

Hello Grace Church!

Wow, what a beautiful day! The Lord is good, every day and in every way! This is the day the Lord has made… let’s rejoice in it! Thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord’s House. Last Sunday’s HOMECOMING 2019 was a tremendous blessing to Grace Church and Harvest Baptist Church as well. I want to thank Pastor Stephen Bradley and the wonderful members of his congregation for joining us. We enjoyed the fellowship. And besides all of that, we had the humbling privilege to exalt and glorify our Lord Jesus together! I also want to thank you for supporting the special Love Offering for our sister church here in Greenville. You gave over $1,000.00 in the offering!!! The Lord used us all in a very unique way last Sunday to forward the cause of Christ in Greenville and the surrounding area. Glory to His name now and forever!

This Sunday morning we will gather around the Lord’s Table for Communion. As Christians we worship a risen Lord and coming King! Jesus instructed us to remember His death until He returns. He may come back today, or He may come back before Sunday! If not, we will gather to obey His command to reflect upon His death on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. Jesus died for our sins according to the Scriptures. Without His death our sins, the weight of our offense against God would plunge us into a devil’s hell! But thanks be unto God for the unspeakable gift of His Son; we’ve been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb! 1 Corinthians 15:57 (KJV) But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I also want to give a hearty “Thank you” to all of our Nursery Staff and AWANA leaders and workers. Weekly I watched you as you faithfully serve Jesus! What a beautiful sight to behold! I watch you come and go and serve the Lord every Wednesday and Sunday! THANK YOU! Thank the Lord for your love for Jesus and the families you serve. The Lord also sees you and blesses you as a result of your good work! Ephesians 2:10 (KJV) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Serving Jesus together is always better!!!

Enjoy these beautiful days! Let them be a reminder of the Lord’s blessings He pours out upon us each day!!! Psalm 100:5 (KJV) For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endureth to all generations.

Jesus is Lord!

Hello Grace Church Family and Friends,

I am excited about this Sunday at Grace Church! Everyone receiving this email is invited. You can bring your friends and families with you. As I said, I am excited because this is an “historic” weekend for our church family. Let me explain. While as our Administrative Assistant, Stephen Bradley shared with our pastoral staff that he believed the Lord was calling him to plant a church in the Greenville area. Stephen and Bethani prayed and we joined them. After a few months Stephen confirmed to our church and deacons that he was certain of God’s call to the church planting ministry. He met with a local friend who mentored him through the early stages of church planting. Stephen also shared his calling with our deacons and congregation. He stepped down from his daily responsibilities at Grace Church and began meeting with a group of believers that shared his heart and calling to begin a new church in Greenville. The rest is history! This Sunday Stephen, Bethani and their church family will be our guests for HOMECOMING 2019. Pastor Stephen will bring the Sunday sermon and we will receive a LOVE OFFERING to help Harvest Baptist Church with their expenses. Plan to give generously to our sister church. Let’s bless then in a way that will glorify our Lord Jesus!

The New Testament gives us the Lord’s plan for His church. Our desire is to be obedient to our Lord and fulfill His will for His church. As we make disciples of all nations, we are to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Spirit. There is no greater joy than the joy of loving obedience to our Lord Jesus. On top of everything else that is happening this Sunday, Pastor Stephen will be baptizing new believers as well. I can’t think of a more beautiful ending for our HOMECOMING 2019 service, can you?  After the service we will go back to our Fellowship Hall for lunch. Bring a main dish, side dish, and a dessert to share with our guests. Serving utensils will be provided. This is going to be a wonderful time together with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

After almost nineteen years I cannot think of a more “historic” service at Grace Church. I was born in 1952; Grace Church was planted in 1953. What a grand joy to know that we have been blessed with such a magnificent opportunity to bring the Gospel to Greenville through the birth of a church body. Not many people ever see this happen in their church. Pray with me for Pastor Stephen and Bethani as we celebrate with their family this Sunday. Glory to God!

In Christ,

Mike and Cheryl <><
